More Red Please!

I had a hair appointment today. I went redder and shorter! I wanted something more dramatic. I am glad I found someone here in Pittsburgh that likes to do fun colors and lots of them.

RED RED RED!

Spring

When I lived in Yuma I never really cared about the season, it was either hot or cold (so of course I preferred the cooler weather). Since I have lived in Pennsylvania (almost 6 years now) I have learned to love the changing of the seasons; I am still not a fan of the cold snowy winters but I am adjusting. The past 6 years I have come to love the two seasons I never really had growing up, spring and fall. My most favorite is spring however.

I love when the snow decides to melt, the sun comes out, and the weather is perfect. It probably helps that my least favorite is winter and I am just glad for it to be done and over with. I also love to open my windows and hear the birds and feel the cool air. BUT MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE is during this time when it rains. There is nothing like waking up in a nice warm bed and hearing the rain outside. I have no idea why but it is my most favorite thing to wake up to. I like to just lay in bed for a few minutes and listen while I feel the chilled air all around me.

This morning both my front and back windows were open and I could hear the rain and the birds, feel and smell the cool air. I woke up in a great mood! Which helped since I had a not so great dream.

Sleeping Angels

I took this picture the night I got back from Flagstaff. I think they were glad to have me back. I was nervous how they were going to act since I had heard they were terrors the entire time I was gone. Well its been a week and they have been very good, for that I am thankful (nothing like naughty dogs)!

The weather this week has been phenomenal. We have been enjoying the sun and warmth as much as possible by going on numerous walks and hikes through the park. They do fairly well when they are off their leashes in the park; however Walter thinks he can take on Pit Bulls and Dobermans which causes minor problems.

It has also been much warmer in my attic room (heat rises). I have kept the windows open to let the breeze pass through. Chuy and Walter have extremely enjoyed having the front window open because it is only about a foot off the ground and they can stand watch (or watch Planet Earth as their YaYa calls it). Usually they just stand up with their paws on the sill and look out. The other night though I was reading and lost track of where Chuy was (couldn't hear his collar jingling) and when I turned he scared me. This is what I saw...(what a nutty little dog)

Redneck

Jace took me on a horse ride through the mountains, well more mountainous than any horse ride I have ever been on. I had not been on a horse since I was very young; I was thoroughly impressed that I was able to do it more than a decade later! I was given the small horse because he was much more calm than the other. However it made me look like a giant in the photos. I suppose I will just have to deal. The scenery was beautiful and it was fun to ride and chat. I was able to see elk as well, always exciting right?!?! After the horse ride I passed out and woke up sore!

All in all I think (or at least hope) that he realized I can be a little redneck and can ride horses and get dirty!

Later that day we went to Outback with Jace's family and friends for his birthday. It was great to meet and get to know a lot of the important people in his life. Every single one of them asked why I was with "this guy" and that he was "lucky". It was cute to see him being teased.

Wearing the shirt I made him for Valentine's Day...I made it since he wore one like in in high school and it was one of the few things I remembered about him from then. Of course he wears it in public!

Jace's 25th

Today I was able to celebrate Jace's 25th Birthday with him. I was so glad that it was during the same week as my spring break and we could share it together. Tonight I laid in bed trying to fall asleep but couldn't until I wrote down some things about this man, the man I am going to marry (plus he complained once I never blog about him...be careful what you wish for).

Over the past few months Jace and I have had the chance to get to know each other much better, via Skype and phone, and in doing so I have fallen in love with him. However, I have fallen for him all over again just being here these past few days. I have been able to see how loving, kind, and tender he is towards his sister, nieces, nephew, and of course me. With every small but sweet thing he does and says I can't help but love him even more.

He has also become a source of spiritual knowledge, strength, and guidance for me; something I never thought I would find in a man. I have seen both of us grow and progress these last few months, it makes me wonder where we will be in six months or even a year. I can hardly wait!

I am extremely grateful for the joy, happiness, excitement, support, and love he has brought into my life. I love you Jace Noble!

Just a few pictures...
Carter and Eiley helped me make a birthday surprise (chocolate eclair, his favorite)!

Flagstaff Day 1

Yesterday I landed around 7:30 pm and was surprised to get a voice mail from my sister Kelly saying her and Maggie were in Phoenix. So I jumped at the opportunity and went to see them (it had been almost a year). I appreciated Jace's flexibility and willingness to meet with my family on such short notice. Here is the cutest little baby girl and her auntie!

This morning we lounged around and then grabbed some lunch. However, our afternoon was filled with snow fun. PS did I mention the weather in Pittsburgh is gorgeous and they had a small blizzard here this morning! Anyway, Jace took me out to his sister Tia's house where we played with the kids making snow angels, snowmen, and then ended with some sledding!

Here are some pictures...
