Flying Dog

Shawn and I are exploring the areas close to us for fun little getaways.  This weekend we found ourselves at the Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick, MD.  Shawn had never been on a brewery tour so I was excited to be there for his first time.  This one was my first in the United States.  The people were great and so was the beer!  After we went to Brewery's Alley a great restaurant in the downtown area.  The food was so good and filling.  We have more tours in our area to go on and can't wait!

Nashville, TN

After my last work travel for a while I finally got to do a little leisure travel of my own.  Liz's had her bachelorette party in Nashville and I was able to go and enjoy the festivities!

 Loved her "Bride" robe!

The Petal Tavern is a MUST even at 10:00 am and freezing temperatures.

 All the denim!

 Who doesn't love Johnny Cash?!

Sambuca was worth venturing out for.

The Pancake Pantry was worth waking up early for.

The Arrington Vineyard (Kix's Vineyard) was beautiful and tons of fun.

Thanks for a great weekend Liz!

A Quick Trip to Yuma

Work took me to San Diego this past week and I decided to stay the weekend and go to Yuma to see the family.

The view from my room…The Marriott Marquis and Marina is beautiful and huge!

The pool - Kelly and the kids came swimming with me.  It was a little too cold but it was fun!

I was excited for the beautiful weather and a chance to see Kelly, Jay, and the kids.

When I got to Yuma anyone who was available met up with me at Chili Pepper and we had a great time visiting and eating!  Saturday I spent the day with mom and Sabra…we had so much fun just hanging out and being with each other.  I can't remember the last time we did that.  We need to do it again!

There are many more photos of my weekend but they are on my mother's camera (so we may never see them).

Love my big sissy!

Shenandoah National Park

This weekend Shawn and I went for a quick weekend to the Shenandoah National Park to enjoy the beautiful weather and nature.  We walked paths for hours on Saturday and drove through the park to see the views!  We even had a picnic before heading to Harrisonburg, VA to stay the night (free night from Marriott).

In Harrisonburg we went to Jack Brown's Beer and Burger Joint where we had amazing burgers.  Shawn had the Elvis Burger (cheese, bacon, and peanut butter) and I had the Hashy Jack (bacon, egg, cheese, and a hash brown)…one of the best burgers I have ever had.  Delicious!

We headed home on Sunday…not a long trip but it was good to get out and do something different.

Beautiful view where we had our picnic.

 Nature!

He thinks he can move it.

Easter 2013

This year it was just Shawn and I for Easter and it was very enjoyable.  We missed being with our families and those traditions but we had fun with our own.  We spent most of the day doing Easter activities, eating, and then enjoyed some Game of Thrones with our friend Janna.

Shawn was happy to see all the candy and UnderArmour.

The boys enjoyed all the goodies the Easter Bunny brought for them.

Teaching him how to roll dough and make cookies.

Glitter Eggs seem like a good idea…but they are not (Shawn still has glitter in his beard).

Cookie decorating and egg dyeing.

I prepared a rosemary and garlic leg of lamb, herb roasted potatoes, carrot soufflé, and bacon/shrimp deviled eggs.  We had cookies and an apple pie for dessert…and of course all the PB Eggs we could eat.

Can never let me have just one good picture of us together, can he?!
