Supermodel Slimdown

Shawn and I did a 6 day cleanse called the Supermodel Slimdown found in the Brazillian Buttlift Workout Videos.  It was great!  It definitely was a "hell week" to give your body a jump start for working out and eating healthier.  Shawn lost 15 lbs and I lost 7.5 lbs.  I went on travel right after the slim down, tried to eat healthier but didn't always succeed; over a week later and I only gained 1 lbs back!  I cannot wait to do this slim down again.

A breakfast during the slimdown.

He's All Mine Ladies

I flew in early Valentine's Day morning from Pittsburgh and my sweetie was at the airport waiting to take me to a romantical breakfast at Chick-Fil-A.  They definitely stepped it up.  Red carnations on every table and the biscuits were in the shape of a heart (fancy).  I had been up since 3 a.m...it was delicious!

When I had walked in the door I had two dozen roses!  One white and one red...I say its for two Valentine's Days spent together...and each year i'll get one more, right?!

Shawn went to class and I needed to work but I had barely enough time to run to Wal-Mart and grab a few things.  I tried to make the bedroom all fancy for when he got home...I bought him Reece's hearts, I think it didn't matter what else I got.

For dinner we went to our favorite place for sushi...they know we come in for every holiday and have a spot waiting for us at the bar.  DELICIOUS!! We never expect anything less.  We had a great large meal...it was our last before the big cleanse.

Carnegie Music Hall

I was able to fly over to Pittsburgh for a really quick work trip last week.  I was able to hang out with Kennedy and Liz.  Kennedy even made dinner, Grands Taco Melts; they are like (american) mexican hot pockets...sooo GOOD!  Here is the recipe.

We also had our appreciation dinner for work at the Carnegie Music Hall.  It was amazing.  The food was great and the venue was beautiful.  I had never ventured into that part of the Carnegie buildings before.  Awesome!

I rushed home Thursday early morning just in time to get some work done and then get ready for my Valentine's Day dinner with my baby.

Memphis, TN

I had to make a quick trip to Memphis, TN for work this past week.  The great part was Kennedy was on the assessment with me.  We ate way too much bbq but no one complained.

The first night we ate at Charles Vergos' Rendezvous down a little alley in downtown.  I had the ribs and brisket.  Delicious!
For lunch the next day we stopped at a D, D & D favorite.  I had the turkey club with house cured bacon with a side of okra.  It was delicious.  It came on texas toast soaked and grilled in butter. Yummy!

On the way back to the hotel we quickly stopped at Graceland to see where the King lived.  We didn't have time to tour everything so it was just some quick snap shots from the road (parking was on lockdown for blocks!).

The wall in front is covered with words from fans.

A few blocks from the hotel was Beale Street (a mini Bourbon Street).  We decided to take the trolley there.  $1 each way, it was awesome.

We stumbled in by chance to a great little hole in the wall.  For dinner we had gumbo, amazing bacon wrapped shrimp, and ALLIGATOR CHIPS!  Everything was so tasty.  The shrimp was my favorite.  I am going to try and recreate the recipe at home.

There was a Krystal Burger in the Atlanta airport, during my layover I ordered the Steamer (24 burgers) and flew them back to Maryland for one happy guy (a back home favorite of his).  He had 12 for lunch.  I can't believe how much he can eat sometimes.
