An Expanding Wardrobe

PetCo's dog clothing was on sale for 99 cents. So of course Chuy has many new pieces; some he can wear for the winter and others that will have to wait for much warmer weather. He also got some new Halloween toys from the $1 section at Target. Hims is a spoiled dog!!

Here are just a few pictures we took during his fitting...and yes some of them might be a little girly (but its ok).

Dead and Gone

I get so confused when I read these books because I also watch the show. I can never keep my facts or story lines straight. This book was an extremely quick read but enjoyable. I am glad that Sookie and Eric's relationship is moving along...and just when you thought you were over Bill you want him back...damn it! Cannot wait for the next to come out soon! (in Oct I think)

New Toys

Today I received a text from John informing me that Chuy would be getting a few surprises in the mail. Well this afternoon when I got home there was a box full of toys. He absolutely loved them all. He doesn't know which one to play with first.

PS - I also added some pictures of him in his carrier...he HATES it!

PPS - He is getting his new teeth in...all the front (bottom and top) ones have fallen out!! BIG BOY!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Katie is leaving today to go to San Diego. I cannot believe how fast this week went by. Although it seemed short we did a lot of "Pittsburgh" things. Tuesday we went to the Mattress Factory and Andy Warhol museums, Cappy's, and the Monroeville Mall.

Wednesday I had classes so she spent the day at the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History. She loved it! (I told her she would...its my favorite) For lunch we went to the Union Grill and for dinner we order Village Pizza. We also got her a CMU t-shirt at the bookstore.

Thursday we went to the Phipps Conservatory and LOVED IT! I had never been; the flowers and glass art were amazing. I cannot wait to go to the Orchid Festival in a few weeks. After Phipps we went to lunch with Kirten and her mother at Gullifty's. The food was alright but the desserts were very good! I had the apple pie and devoured it. To end our day we went to the Waterfront to shop (Costco, Dick's, BBB, Old Navy, Petco, and Lowes). We got Maggie a few cute things, Buddy got a jacket, and Chuy got a carrier for the plane ride to AZ in Dec (he was not excited).

Today we are going to grab lunch and then we must go to the airport. I will be sad to see her leave. Thank you for coming and staying with me Katie. I loved every minute of it!

Katie Kat Has Arrived

Katie arrived in Pittsburgh Saturday night around 10 pm. I immediately started the Pittsburgh festivities by taking her to Primanti Brothers for her first Pittsburgh sandwich. She definitely enjoyed it! Then we went home and introduced her to everyone...she loves Chuy and thinks he is ADORABLE (of course).

Sunday we went to the Duquesne Incline, took a ride round-trip; but only after looking at the beautiful view of downtown Pittsburgh (photo op!). We will return to Mount Washington one evening to see the view at night which has been the 2nd best view in America. After the incline and Mount Washington we headed to the Frick area.

I only live a few blocks away from the place and I have walked in the park a million times; HOWEVER I never knew that they had a museum, green house, etc. I had a lot of fun looking at all the old stuff (the kids had a "playhouse" bigger than most houses). After walking around a bit we decided to eat at the cafe (it had been recommended to me by a neighbor). IT WAS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST TURKEY/BACON SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD!!! Katie also agreed. The chocolate pecan cake was also to die for.

After Frick we were exhausted and decided to go home and rest. We lounged around until the season finale of True Blood. Then it was time for bed since I had class all day Monday and she was going to do the museums next to my campus.

BUT the museums were closed on Mondays so she walked around the Oakland area, got a book, walked to the Cathedral of Learning, met up with me for lunch at Lulu's, and then went home to rest. I felt terrible that she was at home all afternoon and evening but I had class and stats homework. We did go to The Original Hot Dog Shop (The O) for dinner. I had never been but it was really good (fried food always is). I cannot believe how much food they give you.

Tuesday should be much better, we have the Mattress Factory and Warhol Museum. More pictures to come!

Chuy's Big Adventure and Other Happenings

Last week Lia invited Chuy and I to Cappy's Bar and Grill for dinner with her family. We decided to walk the 1.5 miles. However, Chuy gave up a little more than half way there. Thank goodness he isn't heavy and I could carry him the rest of the way. Once we made it the waitress brought him out his own little water. He enjoyed all the people that passed by throughout dinner. EVERYONE LOVED HIM! Even one great dane...this dog was huge! He was completely calm and loved laying next to Chuy...his owner couldn't get him to get up and leave. I am so excited that they got along and Chuy wasn't scared since my friend Liz is getting a great dane (Duncan) very soon. I am so excited that Chuy will have a playmate/friend.

It has secretly been my dream to get a Great Dane after I have a house and whatnot...its good to see my littlest isn't afraid of them!!

My camera was broken so these pictures are off of Lia's phone...bear with us!

Here are some pictures from my phone that I have taken in the recent past...

I also want to get one of those baby slings that I can wear and carry him around in...I had a shirt that was extra long and tied...I made it happen.

It has been getting chilly here at night and in the mornings...Chuy loves his little argyle hoodie! (so does his mommy)

I had Celaschi cut some pants into crop pants...she fashioned a denim vest for Chuy...very 90's I would say

Toothfairy

This weekend has been an eventful one. Tonight as I was getting ready for bed I noticed that my little man had lost a tooth! He lost it sometime between Friday afternoon and this evening. He is growing up so fast!

Hims on the day he lost his teethy!

He lost the middle one on the bottom.

New Apartment

It has taken me quite some time since I moved in to get these photos up...but they are here now! My camera broke so I was unable to get any shots taken until this weekend. (PS I love my new camera...thanks John for finding it for me and on such short notice!) Here is our new place...it is AWESOME!

The first floor consists of a sunroom (piano and Lia's desk), dining room, powder room, living room, and kitchen...you get to the basement through the door in the kitchen and then we have a huge fenced-in backyard (ill take pics when its not dark out)

The second floor has a hall closet, small room we use as a workout room, Kirsten and Lia's bedrooms, and a bathroom.

The third floor is my room (I love it)...you open my door and there is a small closet area (shoes, odds and ends, and Chuy's closet)...then you go up the stairs to my actual room where I have an "office", Chuy's bedroom (for when we are at class/work), my "bedroom area" and closet.
