I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it

This year I have two new Valentines.  I know, I know...I am up to four (not forgetting Chuy and Walter), it is a little ridiculous.  In the last six months two wonderful people have become a part of my life.  I am blessed every day to have their love.  I could not ask for more!

YUMA

The trip started a little late...like 6 hours late.  I missed my Saturday morning flight but was able to get out on a 5 p.m. flight.  I spent that night and all day Sunday with my sissies!!  It had been a long while since we were all together and able to just hang out.  I was so glad we were able to have a little time just the girls.

Sunday night I picked up Shawn and the week started.  We made breakfast with grandma and went on a little tour of Bard to learn something new every morning.  Then we headed into town to meet up with more family for food and fun.  This vacation had too much food in fact.

Shawn absolutely loved Bard/Yuma and can't wait to go back.  I couldn't have asked for a better reaction or a better weekend!  Thanks everyone for making time to see me and I wish I had more time.

BAMA

Once again...

I have failed miserably at taking pictures while we are together.  I was sad because this was the first time I got to meet his family.  It was a quick trip and we were busy so this summer when we are there for a but longer I will definitely get pictures.

Shawn and I flew to Alabama Friday morning so I could meet his family and to pick up a work truck.  We had lots of fun and I absolutely love everyone I met.  Sunday we woke up (late) and had breakfast with his grandma then got on the road (even later).  We had some hiccups along the way be we got to Pittsburgh before the morning light (barely).  It was a long day but we had so much fun talking, driving, keeping each other from boredom, and of course stopping for that last Krystal Burger.

This was the view from our room on the golf course.  The weather was so nice, warm and sunny.

 If you look in the back you can see what is on almost every corner in the south (a Waffle House and a Krystal Burger).

Pleasant Surprise

This week I am on travel for work, doing my first assessment!  For the first few days I was lucky enough to be close to Shawn.  I was able to see him after work.  One day I walked into my room after a long day and was hit by the most beautiful smell of flowers.  I turned the corner and found these beautiful lilies (and creative vases).  Thank you Shawn!

New Years 2012

Shawn and M came to Pittsburgh to spend the New Years holiday with me.  We had so much fun staying busy with Pittsburgh sightseeing, projects, games, and movies. The boys and I were sad to see them leave today but we were also ready for some time to rest.

On Mt. Washington at the Duquesne Incline.  M was nervous the entire time we were on it, but then said it was in her top three favorite things we did.

M helped pop the popcorn and enjoyed a NYE Shirley Temple while we watched movies and the ball drop.

Ann's Dari-Creme

Monday we went out for Ann's famous foot long cheese steaks and a movie.  We saw Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  Not as good as the Swedish version but still good.  The cheese steaks were very good and came with chili on top...insane!

Shawn made the comment that since he started dating me his eating habits have gotten bad.  Why does everyone around me blame me for their eating choices?! :)

Christmas in Maryland

This Christmas I stayed on the east coast and celebrated with Shawn and his friends and family.  We kept busy shopping, wrapping, and more shopping.  Did I mention eating?!  Oh man we ate!

Christmas morning Shawn, the boys, and I opened presents.  I had so much fun watching as they got excited with each gift.  Shawn loved his blanket and I have already received requests from others for their very own.  After presents we quickly made buttermilk pancakes and got on the road to get to M.  While we had M we opened more gifts and made lunch (steak, potatoes, asparagus, green beans, and root beer floats).  Meeting M for the first time went really well!  Shawn and her are coming this Thursday to spend the long New Years weekend with me.  I cannot wait!

After we took M home we stopped by Dina and Steve for more food.  I had ham, bagels, coffee cake, and cheese cake.  There were many more things I wanted to eat but I just had no more room.  After stuffing our faces we went home to relax on the couch and enjoy the rest of a great Christmas.
