Summer Fun

Or should I say summer food!

Sometimes it is just too hot to have a picnic outside.  We decided to have a fried chicken picnic inside to stay cool and help wind down from a long week.  (It was Shawn's night to cook) :)

We also met up with Brent and Katie for Abbey Burger in Baltimore.  It was quite the experience (small bar, big soccer game).  We just wanted to eat burgers.  After finally being seated we ordered some amazing waffle fry nachos and I had a yummy turkey burger.  Shawn had a kangaroo burger; I tried it and it wasn't too bad.  I should have been more adventurous and tried the meat of the month which was New Zealand Red Deer (lesson learned).

Shawn's 11 Anniversary of His 29th Birthday

Also known as his 40th birthday...  I wanted to do something big for Shawn this year but with our work schedules/travel and trying to find a babysitter for Clyde it just didn't happen.  Oh well!  Next year, right?!

We went out for Mexican food and margaritas with friends and I made him a whiskey/bourbon cake.  He was a happy man!

Marc Broussard

Some friends of ours took us to the Marc Broussard concert for Shawn's birthday at Rams Head on Stage.  It was awesome.  Marc Broussard sounds so so good live!  I am now a fan.  Beauty of Who You Are is a favorite now.

Father's Day 2014

My boys and I are very lucky to have the best daddy!  He takes care of us and does all the daddy things around the house.  I can't wait till we have more kids to help Shawn celebrate this day.

Memorial Day Weekend Activities

We had a great weekend with our friends John and Kristen.  Friday night they had a bbq and wine party and Sunday they took us out on their boat on Chesapeake Bay.  We had an AWESOME time just relaxing in the sun and talking.  I could get on board with owning a boat...Shawn's dream is to live on a house boat.

We also relaxed at home a lot of the weekend.  I actually took a nap and started working on my quilt again.  Shawn worked on a lot of projects around the house.  He even smoked a chicken, his first one.  It was the most tender, juicy, scrumtrulescent chicken I have ever had.  He did good!

Crawfish Boil 2014

We went to Tex's annual crawfish boil this year and enjoyed every minute of it.  The weather was beautiful and the food was perfect.  We can't wait till next year!

Brent's Birthday

We drove up to Baltimore to celebrate a friend's birthday.  We went to Tapas Teatro and ate delicious food (no pictures this time).  They even convinced us to go to karaoke and sing!  We had so much fun and can't wait to do it again.
